The opening acts of the 2009 Riverside Bluesfest will be selected through a series of blues band showcases to take place in the St. Marys area in 2009.
The 2009 Riverside Bluesfest Blues Challenge will be four dates showcasing area blues bands.
Dates are scheduled from 1-5 pm one Sunday each month Feb-May 2009:
- Feb. 22 - C & C Loft and Lounge, St. Marys, Ohio

Nightcrawlers, M.C. Blue
- May 3 - Eagles Lodge, St. Marys, Ohio (this event open to public)

Bands selected to play opening slots at the 2009 Riverside Bluesfest will also receive $250.
