Lake Campus BEC Offers Special Internet Classes with Jeff Boate of Midnet Media
The Wright State University Lake Campus Business Enterprise Center (BEC) is excited to offer two special sessions in December -- Internet 101 and Savvy Internet Shopping & Internet Searching, taught by Jeff Boate, owner of Midnet Media. Says BEC Representative Julie Miller, “Jeff is a very dynamic speaker and has a great reputation for doing website training both in our area and in Dayton. We are very pleased to bring Jeff with his cutting-edge Internet experience and these classes to you.”
Headquartered in the West Central Ohio, Midnet Media has spent the past seven years providing Web development, advertising, digital media, graphic design, copyediting, branding, and online marketing services to clients ranging from Xerox and PricewaterhouseCoopers, to dozens of small to mid-sized companies located all over the Midwest. In that time, Midnet Media has expanded operations by opening offices in Columbus and Chicago.
The two special classes to be taught by Boate are:
- INTERNET 101. This 9-hour hands-on class will give you 101 tips and tricks to get the most from the Internet. The class is hands-on and structured around the most basic questions answered in a quick and painless manner. You should have a basic knowledge of Windows operating system and of the Internet and Internet browsers.

Dates: December 10, 11, & 15 at the Lake Campus
Cost: $90 per person; Room: 188; Time: 6 to 9 p.m.
- SAVVY INTERNET SHOPPING & INTERNET SEARCHING. This 6-hour class serves as a guide to safe, secure online shopping. You’ll learn how to check out vendors before you commit to a purchase and learn how to avoid some past online shopping scams. This class also introduces the online shopper to shopping agents that search out the best prices from many stores. This class will also show you how to use major search engines to get the information you want quickly without wasting your time. You will learn special search terms and characters to help you quickly narrow your search.
