ST. MARYS — The St. Marys boys basketball team had trouble going against the height of the Elida Bulldogs Friday night in the final regular season game at McBroom Gym. The Riders just couldn’t stay with the Bulldogs in the second half as they defeated the Riders 59-42.

Warden talks dogs

ST. MARYS — Pit bulls were the topic of discussion as the Kiwanians met to hear from Assistant Dog Warden Jim Heistan at the Eagles Tuesday night. As Heistan discussed housing and adopting out dogs, he informed club members that the warden does not adopt out pit bulls.

Heroin turns up in local drug raid

Heroin, a popular injectable drug during the 1960s and 1970s, has made a big comeback in capsule form here in the Grand Lake area. It was one of the drugs found during a Tuesday drug raid in Mercer County that resulted in indictments against 11 people on 46 charges.
