June 24, 2009 - Press Release
Buy Bluesfest Tickets From MHS Band

ST. MARYS -- Today the St. Marys Band Parents Organization announced a partnership with the K.C. Geiger Park Committee and the St. Marys Blues Guild to market tickets for the third annual Riverside Bluesfest.

The Riverside Bluesfest is a non-profit fund raiser benefitting K.C. Geiger Park in St. Marys. It takes place on Labor Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday Sept. 5-6, 2009, in the park from 1-11 pm both days.

"We are looking for ways to involve the community in our festival," Riverside Bluesfest Operations Chairman Chris Botkin explained. "Different local groups do things like park cars, keep the park clean or operate vending stands that help the Bluesfest, but also benefit their organizations. The Band Parents represent a large part of the St. Marys community, and the musical connection makes cooperating with them a natural fit. It's a win-win arrangement."

Band members will be taking orders for Bluesfest tickets at the same presale price, $15.00 each, that is available in other outlets in the area, earning a portion of the sale as a commission. Orders need to be turned in to the Band Parents by the first day of school (August 25, 2009); ordered tickets will be mailed.

The Band Parents Organization Riverside Bluesfest Ticket Order Form is available for download HERE.

For more information on buying Riverside Bluesfest tickets from the Band Parents Organization, contact St. Marys City Schools Director of Bands Mr. Dane Newlove, 419-394-4011 ext 1696, dane.newlove@smriders.net.

The 2009 Riverside Bluesfest will feature 14 blues bands from our area, and all over Ohio and the United States. The Saturday headline act is Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials from Chicago; Sunday is capped by The Tommy Castro Band from San Francisco. It all happens in our very own park with great food and drink, souvenirs and sun, organized locally by the St. Marys Blues Guild and benefitting the K.C. Geiger Park Committee.
